The City of Laramie has been meeting with an ACoPP representative to discuss the Laramie Police Department’s budget each week for the past month. Now, city officials plan to discuss police oversight issues during the next work session on February 23 at 6pm. Although the details of this meeting aren’t apparent, officials are likely to discuss updates on the four components of the resolution – Civilian Oversight Boards, utilization of mental health professionals in place of or in partnership with law enforcement, community policing, and implementation of more officers being trained in CIT and de-escalation tactics.

You can attend this meeting and provide public comment via Zoom. Information is on the City’s website.
